About Rainbow Thanksgiving
Since 2012, NWA Equality has partnered with various groups to feed LGBTQ community members who can't get home to see family, their chosen family is already here, or maybe they're just looking for an excuse to eat and socialize! Whatever the reason, Rainbow Thanksgiving is an annual event where we want to see shining faces and cranberry-stained shirts for a whole lot of feasting and fun.
In 2019 we worked to expand the event by collaborating with several Northwest Arkansas LGBTQ organizations and supporters. This new effort grew the event's capacity from 125 to over 300 people. During the height of COVID-19 in 2020, we persevered and retooled so we could feed 200 members of our community with to-go Thanksgiving meals.
This event is jointly produced by NWA Equality and the Arkansas Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence in partnership with The Bentonville Follies, Siloam Springs Pride, The Equality Crew, and the Transgender Equality Network. Arsaga's Coffee, Kimberly Clark, Sam's Club, and Tyson Foods sponsor this event.
Rainbow Thanksgiving 2022 is back 100% in person this year. Find out more information here!
